Hepatobiliary Scintigraphy and Glass 90Y Radioembolization with Personalized Dosimetry: Dynamic Changes in Treated and Nontreated Liver
نویسندگان
چکیده
Background: The functional changes that occur over time in the liver following 90Y-radioembolization (RE) using personalized dosimetry (PD) remain to be investigated. Methods: November 2016–October 2019: we retrospectively included hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients treated by 90Y-glass RE PD, who underwent hepatobiliary scintigraphy (HBS) at baseline and 15 days, 1, 2, 3, 6 months after RE. Results: There were 16 with unilobar disease (100%) included, 64 HBS performed. Whole function significantly decreased time. loss was maximal 2 weeks: −32% (p = 0.002) remained below 1 (−15%; p 0.002), (−25%; < 0.001), 3 (−16%; 0.027). No radioembolization-induced observed. Treated strongly reach −64% 0.001) months. Nontreated weeks (−21%; 0.027) before reaching +20% +59% months, respectively. Volumetric exhibited parallel evolutions livers 0.01) but independent nontreated 0.08). Conclusion: PD induces significant regional As early as days RE, both showed a function. recovered greatly increased afterwards.

Hepatobiliary scintigraphy may improve radioembolization treatment planning in HCC patients
BACKGROUND Routine work-up for transarterial radioembolization, based on clinical and laboratory parameters, sometimes fails, resulting in severe hepatotoxicity in up to 5% of patients. Quantitative assessment of the pretreatment liver function and its segmental distribution, using hepatobiliary scintigraphy may improve patient selection and treatment planning. A case series will be presented t...
متن کاملPersonalized dosimetry with intensification using 90Y-loaded glass microsphere radioembolization induces prolonged overall survival in hepatocellular carcinoma patients with portal vein thrombosis.
UNLABELLED The objective of this study was to evaluate the response rate and survival of hepatocellular carcinoma portal vein thrombosis (PVT) patients treated with (90)Y-loaded glass microspheres using a personalized dosimetry and intensification concept. METHODS The microspheres were administered to 41 hepatocellular carcinoma PVT patients (main = 12; lobar/segmental = 29). (99m)Tc-macroagg...
متن کاملRadioembolization and the Dynamic Role of 90Y PET/CT
Before the advent of tomographic imaging, it was postulated that decay of (90) Y to the 0(+) excited state of (90)Zr may result in emission of a positron-electron pair. While the branching ratio for pair-production is small (~32 × 10(-6)), PET has been successfully used to image (90) Y in numerous recent patients and phantom studies. (90) Y PET imaging has been performed on a variety of PET/CT ...

متن کاملAccuracy of Hepatobiliary Scintigraphy after Liver Transplantation and Liver Resection
Background and Aims. Biliary complications are the most frequent complications after common liver surgeries. In this study, accuracy of hepatobiliary scintigraphy (HBS) and impact of hyperbilirubinemia were evaluated. Methods. Between November 2007 and February 2016, 131 patients underwent hepatobiliary scintigraphy after having liver surgery. 39 patients with 42 scans after LTX (n = 13) or hep...
